As at September 2026, the brands selling plans on the Optus mobile network include amaysim, Coles Mobile, Dodo, iPrimus, Aussie Broadband, AGL Mobile, OnePass mobile (formerly Catch Connect), SpinTel, Yomojo, Southern Phone and Bendigo Telco, as well as Optus itself. Unlike Telstra, Optus does not market a separate, smaller wholesale footprint to resellers; these brands describe their service simply as the Optus network.
Where Optus resellers do differ is in 5G access and speed caps. Some include 5G on every plan, some only on certain plans, and Yomojo's prepaid plans are 4G only. The list has also changed a lot recently: Moose Mobile is moving its customers to Vodafone, Superloop now sells on Telstra Wholesale, and Circles.Life's Australian customers were moved to amaysim in 2025.

Optus said on 23 September 2026 that its 5G network reaches 94.5% of the population across more than 6,000 sites, and that 2,444 regional sites are expected to be upgraded to 5G by 2030. Its prepaid page states 4G coverage of 98.5% of the population, and several resellers repeat that figure.
Those are Optus's own measures. Since 30 June 2026 Optus, like Telstra and TPG, has had to publish coverage maps using the ACMA's standard categories of good, moderate, basic and no coverage, and to give its reseller partners the same maps. Use the map for your address rather than the national percentage.
In regional areas, the Optus and Vodafone networks are no longer separate. Under a regional network and spectrum sharing agreement, TPG Telecom (which runs Vodafone) uses Optus's regional radio network, while each company keeps its own core network. The ACCC said on 5 September 2024 that it would not oppose the agreements, which have an initial term of 11 years and cover an area in which around 17% of Australians live. TPG says the sharing went live on 30 January 2025, giving its customers access to about 2,500 Optus regional towers.
For you, that means an Optus reseller and a Vodafone reseller may now use the same towers in parts of regional Australia. It is also why older comparisons of Optus and Vodafone regional coverage no longer hold.
Optus's prepaid recharges include access to its 4G and Standard 5G (Non-Standalone) networks. Its 5G+ (Standalone) network needs a SIM issued in 2021 or later, and Optus says 5G is available in selected areas and on select plans.
Resellers set their own limits within that. Dodo and iPrimus include Optus 5G on all their plans, capped at 150 Mbps. amaysim lists maximum speeds of 150 or 200 Mbps depending on the plan. Coles Mobile includes 5G only on its monthly plans, capped at 100 Mbps, with its 28-day and 365-day plans listed as 4G. Yomojo's prepaid plans are 4G only, with 5G postpaid plans marked as coming soon. SpinTel lists 4G/5G at up to 150 Mbps. If 5G matters to you, check the specific plan.

Moose Mobile now says it uses the Vodafone 4G and 5G networks and has been migrating customers off Optus during 2026; its CIS page warns of a fee increase for services still on the Optus network from 1 October. Superloop says it uses the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network for its mobile plans, with some older services still on Optus. Catch Connect became OnePass mobile on 1 May 2025. amaysim says it acquired Circles.Life's Australian customers in mid-2025 and moved them to amaysim plans. Southern Phone's site says its services are moving to a company in the Aussie Broadband group.
If you are with one of these brands, the network you are on today may not be the network your plan runs on next year. A brand moving networks will usually tell you in advance; if the new network is weaker where you live, that is a good moment to compare.
The Optus outage of 18 September 2025, during which Triple Zero calls failed, led to an ACMA investigation and, on 30 July 2026, Federal Court proceedings by the ACMA against Optus Mobile. In October 2025 the ACMA also registered a new industry code on emergency-call testing of networks and phones. Separately, ACMA rules made in April 2025 set out how telcos must communicate with customers during major outages.
Every mobile network has outages. If one affects you, ask your provider about a credit, and if the complaint is not resolved, take it to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, which is free.

It depends on coverage where you are and what you need from a plan. amaysim runs on Optus and felix on Vodafone, so compare the two networks' maps for your home and work first, then compare data, speed caps, inclusions and the yearly cost in each plan's Critical Information Summary.
Many do, on some or all plans. Dodo and iPrimus include it on all plans, Coles Mobile only on its monthly plans, and Yomojo's prepaid plans are 4G only. Speed caps of 100 to 200 Mbps are common.
