Qantas Points don't have a fixed dollar value. What a point is worth depends on what you use it for: the same 100,000 points can book a return Business Classic Flight Reward on a mid-length domestic route, or buy far less at the online store. The reliable way to value them is to compare the points price with the cash price of the same thing.
This page sets out Qantas's own Classic Flight Reward table (for bookings from 5 August 2025), what 100,000 points covers by zone and cabin, how the other ways to spend points compare, and a formula you can use on any redemption. We don't quote a cents-per-point figure, because it moves with every fare sale.

Classic Flight Rewards are seats priced at a fixed number of points by distance zone and cabin, all year round, plus taxes, fees and carrier charges. Qantas describes them as typically the best value reward seats, with limited availability. They cover Qantas, Jetstar, Fiji Airways and American Airlines under this table; other partners and oneworld have their own tables.

Qantas's table for bookings made up to 4 August 2025 is still published alongside the new one, so the change can be measured exactly. Economy went up by about 15% in every zone (zone 1 from 8,000 to 9,200 points). Premium Economy, Business and First each rose by between about 5% and 20%, depending on the zone. The same points balance now books less, which is the main reason older cents-per-point figures overstate what points are worth today.
In flights, 100,000 points books a set number of seats, whatever the cash fare that day. Using the current table, and assuming reward seats are available and you pay the taxes and charges on top:

Classic Flight Rewards aren't the only option. Qantas lists several, and the value per point differs because the pricing works differently:
Use this for any redemption: value per point = (the cash price of the same thing − the taxes and fees you still pay) ÷ the points used.
A hypothetical example: a one-way flight that would cost $250 in cash is available for 9,200 points plus $40 in taxes and charges. The points are replacing $210, so each point is worth about 2.3 cents on that booking ($210 ÷ 9,200). If the same flight is on sale for $120, the same points are worth under 1 cent each. That is why no single figure holds.
Two rules of thumb follow. Value a card's points at what you would realistically redeem, not at the best-case business class seat. And only count redemptions that replace something you'd have paid for anyway.
Qantas Points don't expire as long as you earn or use points through your account at least once every 18 months. Family transfers don't count as activity. A points-earning credit card keeps an account active while you use it; see how frequent flyer credit cards earn.
There's no fixed cash value. On Qantas's Classic Flight Reward table for bookings from 5 August 2025, 100,000 points covers a return Business flight in zone 3 (87,200 points) or ten one-way Economy flights in zone 1 (92,000 points), plus taxes and charges. Used at the online store, the same points buy much less.
It depends on the redemption. Divide the cash price of what you're getting, minus any taxes and fees you still pay, by the points it costs. The same flight can give very different values on a sale fare and a full fare.
For a Classic Flight Reward, a one-way Economy seat costs 9,200 points in zone 1 (up to 600 miles) and 63,500 points in zone 10, under the table for bookings from 5 August 2025, plus taxes and charges. Classic Plus seats vary with the fare.
In flights, 20,000 points covers two one-way Economy Classic Flight Rewards in zone 1 (9,200 points each) with points to spare, if seats are available. In shopping or gift cards, it covers less.
Yes. For Classic Flight Rewards booked from 5 August 2025, Economy rose about 15% in every zone and premium cabins rose by 5% to 20%, according to the old and new tables Qantas publishes.
